The electronic viewfinder is an excellent addition especially for longer focal lengths and lower lighting where I find the only real drawback: at low light the lcd is very noisy although the images are still very good. Similar to most kit lenses, a lot of the cost is shaved off in building a lens that won’t take too many bumps, but as long as you look after it, you should be fine. In practice, this means that even when zoomed in at 100mm, you can hand-hold the Panasonic 35-100mm f/2.8 II at much slower shutter speeds that would be normally possible, thus allowing you to keep your camera’s ISO as low as possible.
